I found on Hacker News a list of several of the best websites with videos and interviews of entrepreneurs and business related topics.  The list did include the one that you found, intruders.tv.  Here is a list of the webites for future reference:

I decided to record your email to me on the post for easy reference.  I am creating a category called Interview to file these comments under.  Here was your idea that was emailed to me:

Here is an idea on how to scale and profit from this interview site (I’m shooting from the hip here)

How about we people sign up for an account.  They can watch 2-3 videos for free before they have to pay.  However, it they contribute a video interview with an entrepreneur in their area, they get a discounted or free membership.

This way it gives people a taste, and they either have to pay for a membership, or contribute to the content thus increasing the size of the interview library.

Well, not a bad idea, it comes with a few challenges though.  To set up a demo then pay system will require a more complex website design.  I do like the idea of people contributing to the site with their own interviews, but we would first have to create some kind of standard of quality that they would have to meet.  If we wanted to create something “cheaply” to start, it would likely have to be advertising driven…

Here is an another idea coming from a completely different angle.  If we took the approach of an affiliate marketer, we could make a commission off of sales referred by us.  For instance, if we inteviewed Jimmy and Pat, and let them showcase a few demo products at promotional rates, we could keep a portion of sales.  We could also provide a “coupon code” (I.e. 10% off, etc) that would allow a discounted rate from users that find a merchant on our site.  When the customer is referred via our site and use a coupon code we could keep a portion of sales revenue.

The quick breakdown:

Interview a new entrepreneuer and post it to a blog.

Over time amass a large collection of interviews of successful entrepreneuers

Make a lot of connections along the way with all of these people for opportunities later

Find a way to make money off of this (perhaps charge a small yearly fee for access to the library of interviews)

Invite other people around the country to interview people in their area and upload to our site for a cut in profits.
